Thundercross welcomes Two-Wheeler Bikes, where adventures continue since 1999!
At Thundercross, safety is our top priority. Before hitting the dirt, riders undergo sign-in and induction video at The Wool Shed, to ensure all riders well-prepared for the days adventure ahead. We're sticklers for proper PPE gear, you are required to wear the correct dirt riding boots, chest protect and dirt bike helmet.
EFTPOS, credit cards (+ fee), bank transfer and cash all accepted.
NO NEED TO PRE-BOOK AT THUNDERCROSS WHEN YOU ARE RIDING YOUR OWN BIKE!
Just sign-in at the Wool Shed. All Spectators and children must be signed in, too.
* Female youth on their own bikes are free of charge to ride at Thundercross. James' daughter used to race cross-country and MotoX when there were not many females in the sport. In order to encourage more girls to participate James decided not to charge them for riding at Thundercross.
If you'd like tuition, James is one of New Zealand's most experienced dirt bike coaches; you will be in good hands. No motorcycle experience or motorcycle licence required. Our experienced Thundercross team will look after you.
Learners' Track
Our Learners' Track is the perfect spot for the family to set up for the day. This track is suitable for all learner and novice riders new to dirt bike riding!

(All bikes and protective gear are commercially washed after each hire).
A $20 fee is charged per bike, with a donation going to the Air Ambulance Service*
Riders who are riding both days at the Park are welcome to camp at Thundercross. By prior arrangement only. Bookings essential. You must book in advance by telephoning Mandy on 0277331199.
- Riders must register and pay for each day’s riding
- Tent or motor home site only.
- There are no camping facilities, other than the toilet block
- Please take your rubbish home with you
- No open fires
- No riding before 9am or after 6pm
- No charge for camping
- No booking = no camping
If you get stuck out there we can help with retrieving your bike. There may be a charge subject to circumstance and the severity of the situation. For straight forward rescues a box of beer is always appreciated.

Minimum PPE Requirements
Dirt bike helmet, dirt bike boots and chest protector (including unloading and loading bikes). NON-NEGOTIABLE.
No proper kit = no ride!!
Gummies, steel toe caps, trainers or any other form of footwear are unacceptable. This is in the interests of your own safety.
If you don't have your own kit, we have everything available to hire, subject to availability.
